Variance

The statistical variance of a price series over N periods — the square of the standard deviation. Variance is a statistical measure of the dispersion of prices. It is the square of the standard deviation. It rises as volatility grows. Less intuitive than StdDev, since its values are not in the same units as price, but mathematically useful as a component of other calculations.

Formula:

Variance = SUM((Close - SMA(Close, n))^2, n) / n
